COLUMBUS-To help Ohioans affected by the September 14 windstorm damage, the Ohio Insurance Institute (OII) provides the following list of insurance company toll-free phone numbers and Web sites to assist with filing claims.
Windstorm-related losses are covered by homeowners insurance (renters also have coverage for possessions due to this peril). Auto insurance protection is provided under "other than collision" (comprehensive) coverage. Business owners may have similar coverage that could include business interruption insurance.
