The Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association estimates 119 million Americans use cell phones. A phone survey conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from Nov. 2000– Jan. 2001 estimated that 54% of drivers usually have a phone in their vehicle. 73% of those drivers said they use the phone while driving.

Ohio became one of the 36 states and two jurisdictions to approve the optional exclusions of terrorism risks in commercial insurance policies. Ohio approved the language submitted by the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) to allow companies the option of excluding terrorism coverage. According to ISO, the following states approved ISO’s exclusion filing for general liability, commercial property, business owners, farm, crime, commercial inland marine, and boiler and machinery: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, HI, ID, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MN, MO, MT, NB, NV, NH, NM, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI and WY. Washington DC and Puerto Rico approved the filing as jurisdictions.
