The US Transportation
Department issued vehicle-ratings covering 43 vehicles from
the 2001 model year.
The vehicles included light passenger cars, SUVs and vans.
The ratings were based on a statistical formula that includes
measuring the height of a vehicles center of gravity
and its width from wheel to wheel. Five stars means a vehicle
has a rollover risk of less than 10%; four stars, between 1020%;
three stars, between 2030%; two stars, between 3040%;
and one star, greater than 40%. Only one got five starsthe
four-door Honda Accord. The Chevrolet Blazer four-door 4X2
model and the GMC Jimmy/Envoy four-door 4X2 model both got
